Tenet

Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, this sci-fi, action thriller film stars John David Washington, Elizabeth Debicki and Robert Pattinson. A secret agent is set the task of preventing World War III with the use of a single word, ‘Tenet’, and has to use time travel in order to bend laws of nature and be successful in his mission.

The Secrets We Keep

Maja is a Romanian refugee quietly trying to rebuild her life in the American suburbs after experiencing severe trauma from a war-torn past. That is, until she recognises a German solider, so instrumental in her suffering all those years ago. Set in post WWII America, The Secrets We Keep explores just how much one person will risk to seek revenge. Starring Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman, Chris Messina and directed by Yuval Adler.

Kindred

A psychological thriller about Charlotte, a vulnerable mother-to-be who, upon receiving the news that her partner died suddenly in an accident, finds herself trapped in the house of her overbearing and controlling in-laws who seem obsessed with her every move. Apparently ill, and plagued by haunting visions which increase her paranoia, the family insist they are only caring for her, but suspicions grow when Charlotte slowly begins to realise that the family could be poisoning her in order to control her and her unborn baby. Starring Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve), Tamara Lawrence (The Long Song) and Jack Lowden (Mary Queen of Scots, Dunkirk).

The Broken Hearts Gallery

A feel-good rom-com featuring Lucy, twenty-something gallery assistant who’s just not over her most recent break up. She meets Nick, and the two come up with the idea of developing a pop-up space where love’s losers can offload the trinkets and memorabilia from previous relationships that are holding them back. Thus, The Broken Hearts Gallery is born and with it comes some much needed healing for Lucy herself. Starring Geraldine Viswanathan, Dacre Montgomery and Utkarsh Ambudkar

The Roads Not Taken

Sally Potter’s ‘The Roads Not Taken’ is an interweaving of narratives that show the alternative lives protagonist Leo could’ve lived, had he made different decisions. Mirroring his fractured thoughts and memories, Leo’s dementia is causing his mind to break, much to the distress of his daughter, Molly, who is also wrestling with her own path as she considers her future. Starring Javier Bardem, Elle Fanning, Salma Hayek and Branka Katic.

Based on a true story, twenty-something Lance is left disillusioned and jobless after recently graduating from college. He meets five other college graduates and unexpectedly becomes part of a crime ring, who are resentful at the state of the economy and decide to still from Chicago’s richest, to send a message that the system is broken. However, rather than taking from the few and giving to the many, they steal for themselves in tail that centres around greed and destruction.
